Snapshot: Something In Blue

Did everyone get a chance to visit Mrs. Orchid's post yesterday over at Wedding Bee? I instantly fell in love with her photographers, Something In Blue... and once again was blocked by my "NO RIGHT CLICK" nemesis! However, I used a few loopholes and bring you these... *which don't do them any justice.... so visit the site and be awed by the amazing use of color and their great eye. I really love that each and every image seems as though it were shot for a really trendy Tokyo Pop Culture Magazine. There is such light-hearted fun in each of their shots,... without seeming to forced or awkward... perhaps if you are in the New York Area and looking for a photog, you'll drop them a line... enjoy

(the saga with my inability to breach these sites continues... anyone out there that may have a solution??? So often I visit blogs and see the pictures that I spent literally hours trying to get... and think HOW???)

I saw the post and found the shots amazing...different, unique but beautiful at the same time.

As for your 'saga' don't worry... I have the same problem, yet you seem to be doing better than me :)

try holding down the ctrl key while clicking on your image.
OR.. open apple, shift and the #4 key simultaneously will give you a little cross hair symbol. drag that over the image you are trying to capture and it will save the image to your desktop. good luck!

I loved these photos too! I have a very easy solution for you:

1. Download Irfanview. It's a free photo-viewing and MINOR editing program (this is by no means a Photoshop alternative.)
2. When you find a photo you like and can't save it, take a Print-screen image (press Alt + PrtScn)
3. Paste into Irfanview.
4. Crop as desired. Simply drag a box around the area you want to save and go to Edit > Crop selection.
5. Save as jpg.

You can also use the print screen feature and paste the image into paint & crop away. Or if you have a Mac there is a program called "grab" that works wonders.

I saw the photos on Weddingbee yesterday and was definitely wowed.

Are you on a Mac? If so, Heather's suggestions will work--when I do the open apple-shift-4 thing I usually resave the image as a jpeg first (it defaults as a png). Also, if you're using a single-click mouse, buy a two-click (or three or however many). Any USB mouse will work and you'll automatically get the right-click function.

I'm on a Mac, so I can't right-click.... when I see an image online that I want to save for myself, I simply drag it onto my desktop, and voila! There it is :-)

Just wanted to point out that many of these sites are no right-click for a reason. The artists and designers who own them aren't trying to be nasty - unfortunately the web has made it very easy for unscrupulous individuals to take other people's hard work and use it as their own.

Not trying to be a wet blanket, just saying that just because these people have disabled right-click to make it a little harder for other people to grab their work doesn't mean they're being 'nasty'...

ANON:

Point well taken. I completely agree that creative copywrighting is a huge issue-esp over the internet. I suppose that my little *comment* was more a fit of frustration, as my intentions for the photos is more to showcase and boast about the owner than anything else... thus I was seeking a loophole around such security measures... but none the less, I understand and respect why they are in place.
