Goody Goody Gumdrops- a wedding photographer with a fresh point of view... and what's more- a point of view that I would ACTUALLY hang on my wall... Isn't if awful that I am willing to spend gobs of money on a day which I do not even intend on displaying the photos of? I mean I will have them in a beautiful album which I will show to EVERYONE time and time again... but I just find it a bit tacky to have my wedding photos all over the place- and until now, I didn't think that any of the photos would feel at home in my personal space. However, TIIF offers the option of purchasing stretch canvases of the images- and with their lovely vintage-art qualities... I may just hang one over the mantel... of the fireplace in my spare room.

Oh wow... I love these poses. I will save them to show my photographer...
This is the style I like..original yet beautiful pictures. Thanks for the post!!!
These photos and poses are so fantastic, I got lost in their website and was just blow away at the original ideas and picture concepts that make these photos have so much depth.
Hhhmm I actually think a lot of photographers are doing the washed out, grainy, old fashiony look, it's the new "hot" trend in wedding photography so it doesn't really have a "freshness" quality. It's on practically ever photo blog.
The other thing I would worry about is that since this is the new trend that all the photographers are starting to do the style will eventually go away and I think this will "date" the photos a lot more then just a normal photojournalistic style. Washed out/grainy = late 2000 wedding.
I think these are fine for a couple of the photos to have fun with but wouldn't want a whole album of it.

Thank you so much for stopping in. Perhaps you are being a bit critical? It's funny, in my industry once something really innovative in Martha hits the magazine rack, it is deemed "aged" by industry standards but is still able to inspire brides for decades. The same can hold true for photography- if you are not readily exposed to something then it can never really seem like a "fad"... good photography is good photography no matter the age or the decade. I look at pictures that are shot in a very stylistic way (60's, 70's) and think AMAZING! If you look over my blog, I am sure that you will find that my aesthetic spans several decades. I do not mean to argue the point, just bring to surface that the reality is... I love these photos and I think that I will love them years from now... and if I doubted my every move for fear that others would do it then I would never be able to be an event designer... so my feelings are to go with it- it's modern. its now... and in the opinion of this blogger- its timeless.
(but thats just me)
Critical? Yes, I am critiquing the photos and I have a different point of view. Too Critical? Not sure what that would be unless I just said they were trash or something. You bring up very good and valid points about a good photo always being a good photo no matter when/how it was done and I can look at the photos in a different light (though they still aren't my fav). Aren't Blogs better places when we don't all scream "fabulous, gorgeous, brilliant!" to every post? It's o.k. to not love everything that everyone else loves.
the fourth image BLEW me away. wow. i love how they took all the frames and combined them or whatever they did. flippin awesome.
whoa. i just read anonymous' comments ... i have to agree with oh happy blog -- these photos struck me as timeless, not as a fad. and as for the constructive criticism -- i think it can be constructive in some cases but everyone has different tastes ... why fight over an opinion on whether a photo is appealing or not ... i try to stick to the old adage: 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.'
just me. :o)
that's me + my husband in the 5th shot! :-) i also noticed you linked me on your blog under "designers"... i am so honored! it was nice to stumble across something familiar here on my visit. love your blog!!
I think the poses and the fasion here would be striking whether it was shot this way or not. Nothing is hotter than driving away in a white tux with the top down. Very hot.
